ABOUT THE PROJECT
The brief for this garden was to create a commercial garden with spaces large enough for weddings and other functions but yet to feel domestic in its style. I celebrate the designs for large spaces and my favourite gardens are large scale country gardens. The scale of this lawn had to be functional and in proportion to the large rear façade of the house and leads on to a horse arena hidden by plantings at the bottom of the garden. Deep beds of roses and lavender flank the lawn whilst more intimate areas are immersed in the garden for outdoor dining, casual seating and an avenue of flowering crabapples.
